We work to make the team.

And without even realizing it, we can start treating God the same way.

Pray more.

Try harder.

Behave better.

But Jesus said, “It is finished.”

So what exactly are we still trying to finish?

Using Labor Day, the start of football season, and the picture of an NFL rookie, this episode explores a simple but powerful distinction:

An NFL player doesn’t train to become an NFL player.

He trains because he already is one.

In the same way, believers don’t work to become accepted, forgiven, holy, or complete in Christ.

We learn to live from what Jesus has already made true about us.

Grace doesn’t make us passive.

It changes why we do what we do.
